This first-ever joint teaching symposium by both the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) and the Centre for the Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL) is to share and showcase various perspectives on teaching in NUS and, in particular, the FASS. Teaching in the humanities and social sciences takes dedicated scholars to make it work, and this symposium, to be spread out over two half-days, presents the day-to-day teaching experiences of a cross-section of the faculty in FASS. The theme of the symposium is on grounded experiences, on what directly works, and what might work even better. The exciting range of papers to be presented at the symposium gives colleagues a timely opportunity to discuss and reflect further on the teaching and learning experience.
