Triggering Questions

I used the following questions as useful starting points for discussions with employers:

Interview Questions

I . When hiring a fresh graduate, what are the qualities you look for?

II . What contributes to success in the career world?

  1. What are the tasks that a graduate employee is typically required to perform as part of his/her job? What qualities and abilities does one need in order to perform them well?
  2. What are the qualities that contribute towards promotion, allowing a graduate employee to move up the ladder?

III. Suppose there is an extensive training programme for graduating students to enhance their productivity and efficiency in their future jobs. In your opinion, what should such a programme equip graduates with?

Question I deals with finding a good job, while the questions in II deal with moving up. The people that I talked to did not have very much to say about III.
