Synopsis

This 2-hour seminar aims to brief teaching staff regarding students who may be at risk of harming themselves or others. It is meant to elucidate the link between such acts and mental illness. This talk covers the following areas: 

  1. Emphasising the relevance of being aware of and responding to students who are potentially at risk
  2. Clarifying key risk indicators
  3. Outlining how a staff member can respond to such students 
  4. Knowing where one can seek assistance within and outside the university 
  5. Highlighting the need for self-care

Participants

Any teaching staff of the university
Administrative personnel who have frequent direct student contact
