Full Stops

The full stop ( . ) or period, as it is called in American English, has these uses:

	to signal the end of a sentence;
	after initials and most acronyms;
	as a divider for units of money and time;
	for abbreviated terms;
	not for abbreviated terms that end with the last letter of the original word;
	not for units of measurement.
