Full Stops
The full stop ( . ) or period, as it is called in American
English, has these uses:

to signal the end of a sentence; |

after initials and most acronyms; |
 |
as a divider for units of money and time; |
 |
for abbreviated terms; |
 |
not for abbreviated terms that end with the
last letter of the original word; |
 |
not for units of measurement. |
