Punctuation

For most of us, punctuation is not an aesthetic challenge but a practical housekeeping problem: We engage it only long enough to keep things straight. And yet, deployed carefully and sensitively, commas, colons, and semicolons can make our sentences not only clear but even a bit stylish. Good punctuation won't turn a monotone into Hallelujah Chorus, but a bit of care can produce gratifying results.
